Share a little about the company culture (what you're most excited about as an employee):
We advocate women empowerment in a country that is still mainly led by men. Our team is led by women with our General Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing. We are also proud to say that 95% of our staff is local and we help the local community. Everyone works together as a team to reach and exceed our sales and customer service goals.
As it relates to romance travel, what unique value proposition(s) set your brand apart from the competition?
Sublime Samana can host intimate and one-of-a-kind weddings. We only host one wedding per day to give our clients the most personalized service. For larger groups and complete privacy, we offer complete buyouts of the hotel where we can host up to 150 people.
Can you share a success story (with WOW factors) when working with travel advisors?
Clients were looking for a unique hotel in the Dominican Republic, away from Punta Cana and massive All-Inclusive hotels. Travel advisor recommended Sublime Samana, even though she had not been there in person because she trusted us in delivering outstanding customer service and a one-of-a-kind wedding weekend for their clients and their family. Couple fell in love with photos of the property and decided to host their wedding weekend at Sublime Samana for them and 25 of the closest friends and family. All the wedding coordination was done in house with our preferred vendors and was a complete success.

Our buyout option is the perfect way to offer complete privacy and the most VIP experience to our clients.
The travel industry is forever evolving. What are some of the trends you're seeing, and what initiatives is your brand developing to support travel sellers grow their business?
After the pandemic, more and more people are looking for a an intimate, safe and private place where they can enjoy time with friends and family while having all the services and amenities of a hotel. So renting a small, boutique hotel has a great appeal for convenience and safety reasons. We now have the option of doing a Buyout of the hotel and offer commission on the full amount for travel agencies.
What are your traditional commission structures?
We offer 10% commission for room reservations. We offer 5% commission for Wedding Packages.

When communicating with your company, what can travel advisors expect (ie turnaround time, dedicated point person, etc.)?
First contact with hotel and Event Coordinator: up to 3 business days to respond Proposal from Director of Sales: up to 2 business days to respond. Follow up and questions will be answered within 24 hours. Once contract is signed, Director of Sales will be in constant contact with travel advisor regarding contract and Event Coordinator will be in contact regarding the group details. Event Coordinator will be dedicated to the group once on site.
